We have arrived in Giblaltar with overcast skies but were able to head out for a walk but when the skies opened up it was time for lunch so when we were finished so was the rain. The next morning we awoke to a lightning and thunderstorm with the streets around the hotel flooded. It was looking like a terrible day so we went exploring with our rain coats. We walked around about 3/4 of  Gibraltar waiting for the clouds to disapate and about 3 oclock they did so we took a taxi tour of the rock for 25 euros each and it was money well spent! We were able to go into St Micheals cave which started out to be a hospital but then turned into a stage for performers. It was full of stlamites or stagmites not sure which but have lots of pics. We then saw the monkeys which number around 300 from 3 different groups I think, quite comical and very quick to get a feed from the guide. We also were able to get into a small portion of the tunnels in the mountain. There are apparently 33 miles of tunnels in the mountain and they used the refuse from tunneling to build the runnway which runs between the Spanish/UK border. There is only 20 miles of roads here on outside of the rock.   We were told that ‘solid as the rock of Gibraltar’ is riddled with tunnels!  It has been quite an interesting visit here. Off to Cadiz area this morning Cios. Neil & Deb
